שלושים למותה של רותי מיליקובסקי ז"ל

בשבוע שעבר מלאו 30 יום למותה של רותי מיליקובסקי ז"ל . רותי , אימו של הגניקולוג ד"ר גיל מיליקובסקי  היתה בת 87 במותה. היא הותירה אחריה את בעלה: עזרא , שני הבנים: גיל ודויד , ושני נכדים : אלסאנדרו ולאונרדו. הלוויתה נערכה בבית הקברות של הר הזיתים בירושלים בנוכחות בני משפחה חברים ואנשי ציבור. רותי נולדה בעיר ברלין  בשנת1927 . סבה היה הסופר הידוע פנחס שחנוביץ. לאביה היו עסקי בגדים לגברים וחנויות, וב1932 בהיותה בת חמש החליט האב לחסל את עסקיו ולעלות עם משפחתו ארצה , וכך ניצלה המשפחה . רוח הציונות הושרשה בה כבר גיל צעיר, היא התגייסה  לשורות הגדנ"ע , ובצבא שירתה כמפקדת ב"הגנה". תחת עיניהם המאיימות של הבריטים סייעה  בשחיה לעולים חדשים להגיע לחופי ת"א . את הלימודים האקדמאיים בהוראה סיימה בסמינר לוינסקי שם הוכשרה כמחנכת , מורה לאמנות כללית .  חודש לפני קום המדינה התחתנה עם עזרא מיליקובסקי שסיים לימודי משפטים ברותה שנה. עזרא הוא אחד מתשעת ילדיו של  הרב נתן מיליקובסקי ז"ל שהיה פעיל מרכזי בתחילת המאה הקודמת יחד עם זאב ז'בוטינסקי בתנועה הרויזיוניסטית . אחיו הבכור בן ציון נתניהו ז"ל הוא אביו של ראש הממשלה בנימין נתניהו. כזוג צעיר בתחילת דרכו, תחתנם הראשונה היתה בעיר מנהטן. עזרא הגיע לניו יורק עם דולר אחד בכיס, ולימים נעשה לאיש עסקים מצליח, הוא עבד יחד אחיו  ביבוא ויצוא של פלדה ץ ב1951 נולד בנם הבכור גיל בניו יורק . משם חזרו לארץ לתקופה של שלוש שנים.  ב1956 השנה בה נולד בנם השני דויד, הם הגיעו לבריסל  לביקור של ששה חודשים  שנמשך והתארך לששה עשורים...

רותי היתה אשה אצילת נפש, עם תשוקה גדולה לחיים , אשת שיחה מענינת,   אם ואשה מסורה למשפחתה, רחבת לב ונדיבה. האמנות היתה חדורה היטב בחייה , והיה לה ידע רחב בנושאים כמו : פוליטיקה, רפואה  וכלכלה. תמיד נלחמה למען הצדק ושוויון הפרט. פעילותה בקהילה היהודית – ישראלית שבבריסל היתה מגוונת ועניפה : היא לימדה עברית , ניהלה את הבית הישראלי בשגרירות הישראלית . במשך  12 שנה כיהנה כנשיאת ארגון ויצ"ו בריסל . במסגרת פעילותה זו  ניהלה כיתות לאמנות , אצרה תערוכות, ליקטה אוספים של אמנים ידועי שם כמו סאלבדור דאלי , יעקב אגם, אלשינסקי ואחרים. כל ההכנסות ממכירות ציורים אלו היו קודש לארגון ויצ"ו בו התנדבה.  תרומות נוספות ממכירות אלו היו  חדר ניתוח באסף הרופא ולמכון עקרות של הגבר .   רותי ועזרא תרמו פסלים של הפסל קרדינאס  והאמן וואסרלי  למוזיאון ישראלי  בירושלים.  קשר אמנותי מענין היה עם הצייר הבלגי - סוריאליסטי רנה מגריט ורעייתו שנעשו לחברי המשפחה. היא הספיקה לרכוש ממנו כמה מיצירות האמנות שלו עוד לפני שהפך להיות מפורסם ובעל שם עולמי.  אהדתה לאמנות היתה חדורה בה היטב, היא היתה  אספנית של יצירות אמנות , הסטוריונית, ומרצה בחסד עליון לתולדות האמנות. גם כאן בעיר המלאכים הרצתה בארועים שונים בהם: של ארגון ויצ"ו, ובחוילתו של איש העסקים האמריקאי דניס טיטו שבאסיפיק פיליסייד.  גיל הבכור, בן מסור ודואג להוריו, נסע לפני כארבע שנים לבקר ההורים לביקור  של שבועיים בבריסל , אלא שמקורח הנסיבות הביקור התארך, והוא נשאר עם הוריו, וכיום סועד את אביו המתגורר בארץ. רותי היתה ציונית וישראלית ברמ"ח אבריה, הקשר שלה לארץ היה חזק מאד. כששכבה בבית החולים אחרי ארוע מוחי שעברה, לא איבדה תקווה לרגע אחד , וממיטת חוליה שרה  את " עוד לא אבדה תקוותינו"  משירת 'התקווה '.  בהלוויתה נשאו דברי הספד שגריר ישראל בבלגיה לשעבר מר יצחק מאיר. בנה גיל ספד לה ואמר : "הגוף של אמא הלך לעולמו , אבל חכמת החיים שלה , האהבה האדירה , טוב הלב, והתשוקה שלה לידע תשאר איתנו לתמיד אמא יקרה. " בשלושים לפטירתה בתום תפילת הקדיש ודברי ההספד ,התכנסו הנוכחים בביתם של בני משפחה שבשכונת הקטמון בירושלים , העלו זכרונות וציינו את יום הולדתו ה93 של עזרא  שחל באותו יום . עצב מהול בשמחה . כך היתה רוצה רותי ז"ל שיציינו את יום ההולדת של בעלה.

Last week marked 30 days from the passing of Ruth Mileikowsky of blessed memory.
Ruthi, mother of Dr. Gil Mileikowsky, was 87 years old at the time of her death. She was survived by her husband Ezra, two sons – Gil and David and two grandsons: Alexandro and Leonardo. Her funeral was held at the Mount Olives Cemetery in
Jerusalem with the presence of family members, friends and public dignitaries.
Ruthi was born in Berlin in 1927. Her grandfather was the famous author Pinhas Shehnovits. To her father had a men's clothing business and stores. In 1932, when she was five years old, her father decided to sell his business and immigrate to
Israel with his family; this saved the family from the Holocaust.
The Zionist spirit was implanted in Ruth from a very young age; she joined the Gadna and in the army served as a Hagana commander. Under the British threat, she swam to help new immigrants get to the Tel Aviv shores. She completed her studies in teaching at the Levinsky College of Education where she was qualified as an educator and arts teacher.
A month before the establishment of the State of Israel she married Ezra Mileikowsky, who graduated from law studies that year. Ezra is one of Rabbi Nathan Mileikowsky's nine children. Rabbi Mileikowsky was a central activist of the revisionist movement at the beginning of the previous century together with Zeev Jabotinsky. His eldest brother, the late Ben Zion Netanyahou of blessed memory is Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahou's father.
As a young couple the first station in their early marriage was Manhattan. Ezra came to New York with one dollar in his pocket and became a successful businessman over the years. He worked together with his brother in steel import and export. In 1951 their first boy son Gil was born in New York. They later returned to Israel for three years and in 1956, the year that their second son David was born, they travelled to Brussels for a six month visit that continued and extended to six decades…
Ruthi was a noble woman with an enormous passion for life. She was an interesting conversationalist, a dedicated mother and wife, extremely kind and generous. Art played an important part in her life and she was also quite knowledgeable in other issues such as politics, medicine and economics. She constantly fought for justice and equality. Her activity in Brussel's Jewish – Israeli community was versatile and extensive: she taught Hebrew, managed the Israeli house at the Israeli Embassy and for 12 years served as President of the WIZO Organization in Brussel. As part of these activities she managed art schools, curated exhibitions and gathered collections by famous artists such as Salvador Dali, Yaacov Agam, Elshinsky and others.
All proceeds from selling these paintings went to the WIZO Organization where she volunteered. Other donations from these sales were donated to the Operating Room and Male Infertility Clinic at the "Assaf Harofe" Medical Center. A personal donation from her and her husband Ezra to the Israel Museum in Jerusalem were sculptures by Cárdenas and a work of art by the artist Vasarely.
Ruth developed an interesting artistic connection with Belgian surrealist artist René Magritte and his wife, who became close family friends. Ruthi managed to buy several of his art works before he became famous and world renowned. She was an art
collector, historian and talented lecturer on the history of art. Here in Los Angeles she also lectured in various events hosted by the WIZO Organization and at the villa of American businessman Denis Tito in the Pacific Palisades.
Gil her firstborn, a dedicated and caring son, visited his parents in Brussels about four years ago for a two week visit. For various reasons he extended his stay and remained with his parents. He currently cares for his father who lives in Israel.
Ruthi was a Zionist and Israeli, body and soul and her connection to Israel was very strong. When she was hospitalized after a stroke, she never lost hope, not even for a minute and from her sickbed she sang " We have still not lost our hope... " from "Hatikva".
At her funeral she was eulogized by former Israeli Ambassador to Belgium Mr. Yitzhak Mayer. Her son Gil mourned her and said: "mother's body has passed away, but her life's wisdom, immense love, kindness and passion for knowledge will
forever remain with us".
On thirty days of her passing, at the end of the Kadish and eulogies, guests gathered at a family member's home in the Katamon neighborhood in Jerusalem to reminisce and celebrate Ezra's 93rd birthday that same day. Sorrow mixed with
happiness, that is how Ruthi of blessed memory would have wanted to mark her husband's birthday.

On a célébré la semaine dernière les 30 jours du décès de Ruthi Mileikowsky de mémoire bénie. Ruthi, la mère du Dr Gil Mileikowsky, était âgée de 87 ans lorsqu'elle est décédée. Elle a laissé derrière elle un mari, Ezra, et deux fils - Gil et David, ainsi que deux petits enfants: Alexandro et Leonardo. L'enterrement a eu lieu au cimetière du Mont des Oliviers à Jérusalem en présence de sa famille, de ses amis et de personnalités publiques.
Ruthi est née à Berlin en 1927. Son grand père était l'écrivain connu Pinhas Shehnovits. Son père travaillait dans la confection pour hommes et avait des boutiques.
En 1932, alors qu'elle avait cinq ans, son père a décidé de liquider ses affaires et de venir vivre avec sa famille en Israël. C'est ainsi que la famille a échappé à la Shoa.
Le sionisme est entré en Ruth dès son plus jeune âge et elle s'est enrôlée dans la Gadna. A l'armée, elle fut officier de la Hagana. Sous le regard menaçant des anglais, elle a aidé les nouveaux immigrants à rejoindre les rivages de Tel Aviv. Elle a terminé ses études d'enseignante au Séminaire Levinsky et a obtenu le diplôme d'enseignante et de professeur d'art.
Un mois avant la création de l'État d'Israël, elle s'est mariée avec Ezra Mileikowsky qui venait de terminer ses études de droit cette même année. Ezra et l'un des neuf enfants du le rabbin Nathan Mileikowsky de mémoire bénie qui fut un membre actif du parti révisionniste avec Zeev Jabotinsky au début du siècle dernier. Son frère ainé est Ben Zion Netanyahou de mémoire bénie, le père du Premier Ministre Benjamin
Netanyahou.
Le jeune couple a démarré son chemin et s'est marié à Manhattan. Ezra est arrivé à New York avec un dollar en poche et il est devenu un grand homme d'affaires. Il a travaillé avec son frère dans l'importation et l'exportation d'acier. En 1951, c'est la naissance de leur fils ainé Gil à New York. Ils sont revenus en Israël pour trois ans et en 1956, c'est la naissance de leur second fils David. Ils se sont rendus à Bruxelles pour six
mois et y sont restés pendant six décennies…
Ruthi était noble d'esprit avec une grande passion pour la vie. Sa conversation était riche et c'était une mère et une épouse dévouée à sa famille. Elle avait bon cœur et elle était généreuse. L'art était au cœur de sa vie et elle avait de grandes connaissances dans les domaines de la politique, de la médecine et de l'économie. Elle a toujours lutté pour la justice et l'égalité des hommes.
Ses activités pour la communauté juive et israélienne à Bruxelles étaient diversifiées et importantes: elle a enseigné l'hébreu, a dirigé la Maison israélienne de l'Ambassade
d'Israël et pendant 12 ans, elle était la président de la WIZO à Bruxelles. Dans le cadre de cette activité, elle a dirigé des classes d'art, organisé des expositions, collectionné des
œuvres d'artistes importants comme Salvador Dali, Yaacov Agam, Elshinsky et d'autres encore.
Tous les revenus issus de la vente de ces tableaux étaient donnés à l'organisation WIZO dans laquelle elle était bénévole. D'autres dons issus de ces ventes ont été faits au
service chirurgical et à l'institut de traitement de la stérilité des hommes à l'hôpital ''Assaf Harofé''. Sa donation personnelle et celle de son époux Ezra au Musée d'Israël de Jérusalem ont permis la remise de sculptures du sculpteur Cárdenas et d'une œuvre du peintre Vasarely.
Une relation artistique intéressante a rapproché Ruth du peintre belge surréaliste René Magritte et son épouse qui sont devenus des amis de la famille. Ruthi a pu lui acheter des œuvres d'art avant qu'il ne devienne connu et qu'il ne soit un peintre de renommée internationale. Elle collectionnait les œuvres d'art, les œuvres historiques, et elle était conférencière en matière d'histoire de l'art. A Los Angeles elle a donné des
conférences lors de différents évènements de la WIZO et dans le cadre des évènements organisés par l'homme d'affaires américain Denis Tito à Pacific Palisades.
L'ainé des enfants Gil est dévoué et s'occupe de ses parents. Il a voyagé il y a quatre ans pour rendre visite à ses parents à Bruxelles pendant deux semaines. A cause des circonstances, sa visite a été prolongée et il est resté avec ses parents. Aujourd'hui, il aide son père qui habite en Israël. Ruthi était sioniste et israélienne au plus profond d'ellemême. Son lien avec Israël était très fort. Quand elle était à l'hôpital après son accident cérébral, elle n'a pas perdu l'espoir un seul moment et dans son lit, elle chantait "Nous n'avons pas perdu notre espoir '' de l'hymne national israélien Hatikva.
A son enterrement, l'ancien Ambassadeur d'Israël en Belgique M. Yitzhak Mayer a prononcé un éloge funèbre. Son fils Gil a fit que ''le corps de Maman était parti mais que son intelligence, son immense amour, sa bonté, sa passion pour la connaissance
resteront toujours avec nous''.
Lors de la cérémonie des trente jours suivant son décès, à la fin de la prière du Kadish et de l'éloge funèbre, les personnes présentes se sont réunies dans la maison de la famille située dans le quartier de Katamon à Jérusalem. Des souvenirs ont été évoqués et on a fêté les 93 ans d'Ezra le même jour. La tristesse était mêlée à la joie, et c'est ce que Ruthi de mémoire bénie aurait voulu pour l'anniversaire d'Ezra.

Que sa mémoire soit bénie!
